With more hands, more tools, and one more ladder, we moved much faster this week. We only worked until lunchtime, but got as much done as last weekend. If I can recruit a few more folks, we should be able to knock this out next weekend!
After working in the sun, we thought Tacos N Beer would be the perfect reward. Alas, I think TnB has shuttered. It was closed on Saturday. So sad.
We went for a little kayak trip (thanks Megan, for use of your boats) in the harbor in the afternoon.
Then we headed to The Cave, a wine shop/bar in Ventura. The owner, Nick, is an institution in Ventura. I initially found out about Nick because I met his daughter-in-law in Haines, AK last summer. The food was yummy, and the experience was interesting. Easy to spend more money than you think.
Sunday morning, we met John & Sabine's friend Matt for brunch at The Sidecar Restaurant - they use locally raised produce. Yummy brunch, great conversation, lots of fun.
After brunch, we took a little walk on the beach. And took care of the most important business of the weekend - planning our next THREE vacations!
#1 - Portland/Astoria/Mt. St. Helens in just a few weeks
#2 - rafting the Alsek river in Canada / Alaska next summer
#3 - Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver
