My friend Annie's mother died Thursday night. Unexpectedly, suddenly and in her arms. Annie has been her mom's full-time caregiver for four years in her home in Minnesota. You may have seen an earlier post on the HBO documentary on Alzheimer's.
My heart goes out to her.
She gave her mom four years of respect, dignity and love. It was an incredible gift, and not one that most people give their loved ones.
I wish you peace, Annie. Your mom has it now, and in time, you'll have it, too.
